Lack of the need for accounts is a perk of tetr but unavoidable with regards to i.e. syncing across devices. Accounts will not be required and will be as privacy-friendly as possible. They will help provide a method of verification across different devices and different parts of tetr (i.e. on Canny, you would not have to re-register and your Pro status would be automatically be carried over).
